Sun Tunnels
“Natural daylight for windowless areas”
Many houses have bathrooms, hallways and other rooms where daylight only enters when you open the door. Dim and dark, these rooms are unwelcoming places until you turn on the light.
Now that has all changed…
Velux Sun Tunnel signals the end of dim and dismal spaces in the home. VELUX Sun Tunnel brings natural light into even the darkest and most isolated spaces through a specially designed tunnel from roof to ceiling.
Options available to suit either pitched roofs or flat roofs.
How does it work...?
A window panel is fitted into the roof of the property, and a link (flexible or fixed) is fed into the required room, this provides a flow of natural light into the given area. This is ideal for any room where there is either a small window, or no window at all.
Effects of a Sun Tunnel
The images below show a project completed by us where a sun tunnel was used in a bathroom to maximise light. Being a relatively small room with no window, daytime light was always in issue. But with a sun tunnel installed, there was an instant improvement in the lighting of the room.
An additional benefit is that less electricity is used in the bathroom during the day:
